NLNA Member Update: NSW update to roadmap for further easing of restrictions

NLNA Member Update: NSW update to roadmap for further easing of restrictions

Dear Members,

The NSW Government has updated the roadmap for easing restrictions after the State reaches the 95 percent double dose vaccination target, or 15 December, whichever comes first.

Adjustments to previous settings scheduled for this milestone include:

  • Masks will only be required on public transport and planes, at airports, and for indoors front-of-house hospitality staff who are not fully vaccinated (previously all indoors front-of-house hospitality staff regardless of vaccination status). Masks will be strongly encouraged in settings where you cannot social distance;
  • No density limits (previously one person per 2sqm);
  • COVID safety plans will be optional for businesses and will be supported by SafeWork NSW;
  • QR check-ins will only be required at high-risk venues including hospitals, aged and disability care facilities, gyms, places of worship, funerals or memorial services, personal services (e.g. hairdressers and beauty salons), limited hospitality settings (including pubs, small bars, registered clubs and nightclubs), and for indoor music festivals with more than 1,000 people; and
  • Proof of vaccination will no longer be required by Public Health Order for most activities (businesses can still require proof at their own discretion). Proof of vaccination will still be required for indoor music festivals with more than 1,000 people.

Common Signs of Identity Theft

Common Signs of Identity Theft

Dear Members,

Unfortunately, identity theft is more common than most of us realise. It can do serious damage to your finances, reputation, and future.

When it happens, the earlier you find out the better. There are some common tell-tale signs that something may be wrong. Knowing what those signs are is important, as is taking action as soon as you feel something is wrong.

Common signs of identity theft:

  • You receive bills, statements, or confirmation letters for accounts you didn’t open.
  • You are surprised by being denied a loan or credit.
  • Sharp changes in your credit score that you don’t believe there is a good reason for.
  • Suspicious charges on your credit card or bank account.
  • Authentication/verification text messages or emails for accounts that you either don’t own or are not currently logging into.
  • Your tax return appears to have already been filed/denied.

These are just some signs, there are many others. The best thing you can do is to educate yourself, and then protect yourself, both online and with all your physical documentation.

Yours sincerely,

The NLNA Team

SA COVID-19 UPDATE

Current business restrictions for coronavirus (COVID-19) in Queensland

Dear Members,

Queensland is set to ease restrictions for entry to Queensland on 17 December 2021. This is when we expect at least 80% of Queenslanders, 16 years and older, to be double vaccinated. Restrictions may ease if Queensland is 80% double vaccinated before this date.

Some businesses will be required to restrict entry to unvaccinated people from this date. This includes yourself as a business owner and your employees if not fully vaccinated.

Vaccinated people will be able to visit or attend (with no capacity restrictions):

  • hospitality venues (e.g. hotels, pubs, clubs, taverns, bars, restaurants, cafes)
  • indoor entertainment venues (e.g. nightclubs, live music venues, karaoke bars, concerts, theatres, cinemas)
  • outdoor entertainment activities (e.g. sporting stadiums, theme parks)
  • indoor and outdoor festivals (e.g. musical festivals, folk festivals, arts festivals)
  • Queensland Government-owned galleries, museums, or libraries
  • weddings.

Unvaccinated people will be able to visit essential services (e.g. grocery stores, pharmacies, post offices, newsagents, clothing stores, limited retail stores, gyms) and attend funerals. Weddings are restricted to a maximum of 20 people if anyone attending is unvaccinated.
