The latest daily update from the Department of Health

The latest daily update from the Department of Health

Sticking to our plan is saving lives and will save livelihoods. 3 out of 4 people who have tested positive for coronavirus in Australia have now recovered. This latest daily update from the Department of Health is hugely encouraging. There are now just over 1600 active cases across the country and new cases each day are only increasing by about 0.2 per cent. It is true we are doing better than so many other countries but we can’t get complacent. The virus writes its own rules and can quickly get out of control, if we don’t act carefully, as we have also seen in other countries. We have begun opening things up again and are on the road back. This is very important. I want to see kids back at school and people back at work. We are only in this position because of the hard work, patience and support of Australians, so thank you. We will get through this together.
