NSW NEWSAGENTS OPEN AS AN ESSENTIAL SERVICE

NSW NEWSAGENTS OPEN AS AN ESSENTIAL SERVICE

Dear Members,

The NLNA has been working hard with the NSW Government for newsagents to be classed as an “essential service” and it was approved on the weekend.

The NLNA would like to thank Minister Tudehope MP (Small Business) and Minister Dominello MP(Liquor & Gaming) for their support of our industry.

However, if you fall under non-essential ie. Kiosk you must be closed. We will forward NSW Government support packages.

The NLNA will keep you posted across moves from NSW Government.

You are not alone, please contact us at enquiries@nlna.infusion121.com

Kind regards,

Brendan Tohill | Chief Executive Officer

Some key points:
1.QR Code check-ins- please ensure you have several check-in points at your shop
2. Mandatory Face masks-keep yourselves and the community safe
3.Hand sanitiser and washing of the hands -constantly.
4.Social Distancing -please keep the customers 1.5m apart as per State Government regulations
5.Tatts Kiosks that are closed -State & Federal assistance is on the way -more to come.
6.Distribution- business as usual using all the above points 1-4.
7.Community – let us keep positive for the community whether it be retail or distribution – right now the community needs us, in some instances we are one of only a few connections for them in the next 5 days.

State Government Victoria

A big thanks to the State Government of Victoria that has listened to VANA that newsagents are an essential service and the very fabric of our communities. Our argument all along has been no one can be deprived of media and essential items. To Minister Melissa Horne (Liquor and Gaming) MP and Minister Jaala Pulford (Small Business) the Small Business Commissioner Mark Schram and Joel Williams Executive Director, Liquor and Gaming these people have been so incredibly supportive to our industry, in the toughest of tough times in no less than 5 lockdowns in Victoria.

Take care and stay safe,

You are not alone at VANA & NLNA.

Kind regards,
